One of my favorite places to return every summer is the California coast – not a bold or particularly unusual choice – but it’s home. It’s the place I grew up loving through family trips, and later visits with friends over the years. It’s a place I miss, no matter how wonderful my current locale may be.
Cool, often even cold in the summer, it can also be sunny and warm, with fresh breezes. Not to forget the hot tub, and stars at night. The California Dream in a nutshell.
Unlike so many places in Europe and Asia, it still feels wide open and wild. The homes may be sky-high in price, but the vibe remains modest, and most of it is open to all.
I’m simply going to post some pictures from my time up here in Sea Ranch, an iconic residential development here, enjoying the sun and breezes, relaxing with my friend, having interesting conversation as we walk along the bluffs, soaking in the sights, and eating good, healthy food.
Then there’s going to sleep in absolute quiet, a welcome change from my noisy spot in Berlin.
I needed this. I hope the pictures give you a bit of relaxation, too.
Onwa…
