I’m writing on the morning of the last of my five days in beautiful Torino (Turin), Italy. I have always meant to come here, it’s not far from Milano, but I never made it before. This is the last major city in Italy that I’ve never seen. It was well worth the wait.
This mid-sized city is beautiful, elegant and manageable, with a little touch of the classic Italian style of Bologna, with its beautiful porticos and grand boulevards, and with some of the modern, stylish feel of Milano, but more peaceful, and considerably smaller than the latter.
I was vaguely disappointed to discover that the famous Shroud is not available for viewing, but made do with the enormous royal palace, which was, honestly, enough over-the-top beauty for me to last quite a long time. I’m not real big fan of palaces, it’s not my style. For example…
