I wrote this song ages ago, though I never really explored the bisexual vibe of it as fully as I do now…which is fun, and is weirdly never commented on by listeners. And I was so hesitant about being “out” there about it!
I have a fantasy of doing a proper video in Saigon, starting a non-binary Vietnamese friend who might literally embody the song’s imagery in interesting ways.
Or perhaps the ladyboys on Bui Vien Street?
But for right now, it’s just me, and the song, which ended up in very different form on my last album, Pilgrim. It’s on Spotify, if you want to hear what guitarist Bill Edwards did with it.
