As my four weeks in Berlin draw to a close - FOUR? Time really does seem to move faster when I am stationary - I am feeling reflective. More than usual.
Berlin has meant an awful lot to me over the last six or seven years, in both wonderful ways, and some pretty dire ways. A lot happened here, and this is probably the last extended time I will have here. I don’t know when I will return. So I’m having lots of David Bowie feelings, but more the wistful “where are we now?“ than the bolder “we can be heroes.”
Either way, my years here were certainly epic, and deeply impactful.
My four weeks had that same mix of flavors. The four weeks were divided into two very distinct halves: the first half was my old Berlin, partying, seeing a few friends, going to shows, staying up all night, an afternoon at Teufelsee…you know, Berlin!
