One More Week on Broadway
My last for 2025: Purpose, John Proctor Is the Villain and Oh, Mary!
Back in New York City for my second and last time this year, and it is, always, a great pleasure to be back in this particular former home. New York will always be my favorite city. Always has been.
Seeing friends has been great, and more manageable since more than half of the people I knew when I lived here have moved away. It’s that kind of town. But the hardcores remain, and provide some continuity.
And Broadway remains. Going to shows is always my priority here, as I wrote about in May (here).
My favorites from my previous visit were Operation Mincemeat, an import from London’s West End, and the locally-grown Dead Outlaw, which closed after a very short, critically-acclaimed (but under-attended) run. It happens. But Operation Mincemeat roars on, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a smart, funny musical. Really great.
